The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games announced that an Olympic Handover Flag was raised at Braunstone Town Councils Olympic Fete held on Sunday 24th August.. The flag was raised to celebrate the moment when London becomes the official Olympic Games Host City. Sporting Champion, Jayant Mistry, was on hand to help raise the Olympic Handover Flag with Braunstone Town Mayor, Sharleen Thurman. The Olympic Fete and Fun Day was held at Mossdale Meadows.. The Olympic Handover Flag was one of over 500 flags delivered to locations including H.M. Armed Forces, embassies around the world, City Halls, British Council offices and Foreign and Commonwealth offices. Cllr Jo Fox,

Handover Flag celebrations was wonderful. I am sure everyone in
Braunstone Town will want to join in the fun. The Town Council
was delighted that so many local people took part and to host
